Luna explores the beauty of concealed light and reflected illumination, drawing inspiration from the cosmos. Mimicking the effect of a total eclipse, stone discs partially obscure the LED light source. A large hand-spun brass disc reflects the light outward, casting a warm, ambient halo that enhances any space with its soft, inviting glow.

Behind the Collection

The Luna shade is a testament to outstanding workmanship, meticulously crafted from sheet metal in our workshop. Each large brass dish is expertly hand-spun by our master spinner using traditional techniques.

To achieve the subtle curve that defines the Luna shade, a flat metal disc is moulded over a mould on a lathe using precise pressure. This seemingly effortless process demands years of dedication and skill, resulting in an elegant form that exemplifies the artistry and attention to detail at the heart of every piece

A limited-edition Luna collection created in collaboration with sustainable surfaces pioneer Nature Squared, pairing our signature design with the soft, organic shimmer of hand-applied Capiz shell. Responsibly sourced as a by-product of food harvesting by small-scale Filipino fisherfolk, the shell’s natural translucency enhances Luna’s warm glow and brings a unique depth to each piece. Offcuts from the inlay process are repurposed, reflecting Nature Squared’s circular ethos and commitment to sustainability without compromising craftsmanship.

The Capiz shell has this extraordinary, quiet glamour, and echoes the meticulous craftsmanship at the heart of J. Adams & Co.
